My journey to Chiropractor took time but when I found it I knew there was no other option. Growing up I was constantly involved in sports and my mom, being a proactive parent, always brought me in to see a Chiropractor. So at a very young age I began getting adjusted and learning the philosophy and still I never thought of being a chiropractor. Fast forward to my Junior year at Central Michigan University, 2 days following an awkward slip and fall on the ice my low back and pelvis totally seized up. I was in severe pain, couldn't sit, and could hardly walk. So I went to see a chiropractor and after a week of adjustments I was back on my feet, feeling great and still the thought of becoming a Chiropractor never crossed my mind. At the end of that school year I was at a crossroads, I was going into my senior year and had no career path. I had previously studied sports medicine, physical therapy, and teaching, but none of these professions called to me. So one day while pondering my future it hit like a bolt of lightning, I was to become a Farmington Hills chiropractor.

After studying your health history, we conduct a complete Chiropractor examination. This generally includes full spine X-rays and precise analysis. Using a small heat-sensing instrument, vertebral subluxation complex patterns are revealed by slight differences in temperature. Finally, we use our fingertips to "palpate" or feel the location of individual bones and how they may differ from their normal position.

At Farmington Hills Dotto Family Chiropractic, we use a Chiropractor adjusting style commonly referred to as "Diversified." First, an analysis of your spine is performed. This can initially involve a case history and X-ray pictures of your spine. A special hand arrangement called a "pisiform contact" is used to deliver a specific thrust at the right place and the right time.

Named after its developer, Dr. James Cox, this highly-effective technique combines osteopathic principles with the specific, highly-directed approach used in Chiropractor. The combination offers a conservative resolution of low back and leg pain that often averts the need for surgery. We deploy this method in our Farmington Hills office.

We use the latest Chiropractor technology to help relieve the effects of back pain due to herniated and degenerated discs. Since discs are constantly under weight-bearing pressure, they can be slow to heal. By gently "stretching" your spine, we help relieve pressure and enhance healing in Farmington Hills . This is called disc decompression.

When Chiropractor patients learn that we use laser therapy in our Farmington Hills practice, they have visions of a powerful, steel-cutting beam of light. The "cold" laser we use has only a tiny fraction of the power. Instead, its value comes from the frequency of the light it emits, not its intensity.

As you walk through our front doors near Farmington Hills you will be greeted by the calming atmosphere of our office and friendly faces of our staff.
