My journey to Spine Adjustment took time but when I found it I knew there was no other option. Growing up I was constantly involved in sports and my mom, being a proactive parent, always brought me in to see a Spine Adjustment. So at a very young age I began getting adjusted and learning the philosophy and still I never thought of being a chiropractor. Fast forward to my Junior year at Central Michigan University, 2 days following an awkward slip and fall on the ice my low back and pelvis totally seized up. I was in severe pain, couldn't sit, and could hardly walk. So I went to see a chiropractor and after a week of adjustments I was back on my feet, feeling great and still the thought of becoming a Spine Adjustment never crossed my mind. At the end of that school year I was at a crossroads, I was going into my senior year and had no career path. I had previously studied sports medicine, physical therapy, and teaching, but none of these professions called to me. So one day while pondering my future it hit like a bolt of lightning, I was to become a Farmington Hills chiropractor.

After studying your health history, we conduct a complete Spine Adjustment examination. This generally includes full spine X-rays and precise analysis. Using a small heat-sensing instrument, vertebral subluxation complex patterns are revealed by slight differences in temperature. Finally, we use our fingertips to "palpate" or feel the location of individual bones and how they may differ from their normal position.

Subsequent Farmington Hills office visits may include motion palpation, Spine Adjustment, with the chiropractor feeling the spinal joints move as you turn and bend. Or, a leg check may be performed, to uncover an imbalance in the neck or lower spine.

Named after its developer, Dr. James Cox, this highly-effective technique combines osteopathic principles with the specific, highly-directed approach used in Spine Adjustment. The combination offers a conservative resolution of low back and leg pain that often averts the need for surgery. We deploy this method in our Farmington Hills office.

We use the latest Spine Adjustment technology to help relieve the effects of back pain due to herniated and degenerated discs. Since discs are constantly under weight-bearing pressure, they can be slow to heal. By gently "stretching" your spine, we help relieve pressure and enhance healing in Farmington Hills . This is called disc decompression.

When Spine Adjustment patients learn that we use laser therapy in our Farmington Hills practice, they have visions of a powerful, steel-cutting beam of light. The "cold" laser we use has only a tiny fraction of the power. Instead, its value comes from the frequency of the light it emits, not its intensity.

From there you will be whisked off on a tour of our beautiful Farmington Hills office and then into our high tech exam room for the consultation with the Doctor. The Doctor will use this information to determine a course of Spine Adjustment action for the exam (what tests need to be done and whether x-rays are needed).
